A personal project of Matri (page 70), this biocore (page 10) is their attempt to definitively prove that a self-governing mortal society that follows harsh, unbending social rules is not only possible, but ultimately successful, despite their many other attempts suggesting otherwise. To accomplish such a task, Matri has created a hierarchy, each responsible to regulate the ring below it, with the highest in the ladder being the Kanonian Autocrat who's been gifted immense personal power by Matri. The Autocrat rules over the Sentinels, who then command the Wardens, who then oversee the common folk. Each ring is liable to the failure of their subordinates, leading all the way up to the Autocrat, and a too-large departure from Matri's ideals would cause the termination of the project, and thus, the biocore. In Matri's eyes, a departure from their ideals would make the world not worth living in, as well as doomed to fall into disarray and then complete self-destruction, and so the threat of termination is, in reality, not so different than the ‘natural consequences’ they believe will come of such a derailing. Many of the other Stars around Matri's age group, who are the only ones Matri has shown their work to, consider this a boring approach to building a world, but ultimately regard it as quaint.

The Kanonia Autocrat, known by this name alone, is a mortal whose designed and designated purpose is to control, manipulate, and threaten the population of Kanon into submission. They have been given much arcane power by Matri to do so, nearly equal in freedom to that of an Archfey (page 17). Unlike the Fey, however, the Autocrat is shackled with an equal amount of responsibility- to ensure none under their watch stray from the path of Matri, and by Matri's rules is not allowed to remove their subordinates' free wills via arcane means to do so. It is unknown if the Autocrat changes at any point in time, as any encounters with them have been brief, and their figure is traditionally intentionally obscured from the onlooker by way of an impenetrable, silvery aura.

The Kanonian Sentinels are the Autocrat's right-hand men, ensuring the Autocrat's will is carried out swiftly and mercilessly. There are five Sentinels in all, each responsible for a fifth of Kanon's population, watching over them through towers named the Sentinel Spires, or more casually Watchtowers. Though they answer directly to the Autocrat in most subjects, they have been given some administrative freedom in their chosen methodologies. While powerful, they are still mortals, and when a Sentinel dies, a public but utiletarian ceremony takes place to promote the previous' head Warden into the role. The ceremony is known as the Burdening, and allows the chosen Warden access to Sentinel-level arcana, changing them fundementally in the process. The current living Sentinels are as follows:
The Deepolm is the title of the Sentinel overseeing the Saleh region of Kanon. They are in charge of the mining operations in the area, as well as refinement and delivery of the raw material to Hord. They seem to prefer remaining in their watchtower, dispensing commands through an electronic mail system, which their Wardens must then carry out. They are known to be curt and practical in their messages, and the few who have heard their voice report it to be coarse from disuse and crackely. There are even less who have seen them, with only one confirmed sighting at their Burdening, at the end of which they appeared to be a wirey, lanky, pale creature of eight paired limbs and no visible eyes. It is hypothesized they navigate their surroundings via echolocation or tremorsense, but there is no solid evidence for either.
The Unicorn is the title of Kanon's Ek Sentinel. Ek's commonfolk work as engineers, architects and product designers, applying the research done at Whar to practical use, and then ship their designs to Hord for production. The Unicorn is the most well-known of the Sentinels off-world, as they also act as Kanon's head diplomat. They bear a grin nearly at all times, and act in an aggressively, often physically friendly demeanor, though many have claimed to have sensed an intense threat behind the bared teeth. They are lithe and quick, with a dozen hooved legs all clapping in unison, and two identifiable pairs of arms with which they gesticulate often.
The Dragon is the title of Kanon's hub of Industry and Labor at Hord's Sentinel. They are an imposing figure, their two maws often pulled into a tight scowl. They are mostly seen walking through Hord's many factories, ensuring they all work like a well-oiled machine. Though their station puts them above the need to labor themselves, they have demonstrated thorough and impressive understanding of nearly every factory machine's inner workings, and undertake repairs of the more important pieces of technology themselves. They are known for a short temper, and are hard to impress, and despite this also as the most sympathetic of the Sentinels.
The Leviathan is the Sentinel responsible for Kanon's knowledge and research division at Whar, where all of Kanon's scientists and arcansits pursue their craft, as well as commonfolk from other regions come to learn their assigned trade. Leviathan is often described by eyewitnesses as impossibly large, and bizarrly graceful. Their many eyes, which often disappear into their body only to reappear elsewhere on it, seem to be constantly absorbing their surroundings. They are reported to have infallible memory, and are seemingly impossible to lie to.
The Roc is the Sentinel of Kanon's Sner farmlands. They are in charge of ensuring all other regions are fed and healthy, so that their work would not be delayed. As such, the area is built not only for fields and pens, but contains Kanon's hospital sector. Roc themselves are known to be arrogant and snippy, agitated easily but rarely properly furious. They keep the hospital sector nearly completely sterile at all times, and have been reported to be able to smell any slight delay in the scheduled sanitation. They rarely leave the hospital part of their allotted region on foot, but use their numerable large wings to glide over the fields in search of insubordinate or lazy workers.
